Question: I have a licensed copy of ExamView that I received with the instructor supplements for my textbook. Can I use ExamView to create tests for other occasions, other courses? It's a full-blown copy with no locks or limitations. The book does not specify how I may use the product, and the publisher is not really clear on the matter. Looking for some guidance so I don't violate any EULA [end-user license agreement].
Answer: When you receive ExamView from a publisher, the license (shown during installation) permits you to use ExamView for that adopted text only. If you want to use the software for other courses, you can purchase it online from FSCreations. When you purchase ExamView, you get the latest version and a license to use it for all of your courses. Site licenses are also available. (Click here for more details.)
Question: Is there a way to merge two or more EV banks into one bank?
Answer: Yes, provided that the two banks you want to merge contain less than 250 questions total and you have ExamView 3.0 (or a more recent version). If so, follow these steps to merge question banks. 1.
Choose to build a new test. The program will save the test containing questions from both original banks as a new question bank. Now you can use that bank to build other tests.
Question: I'm using ExamView and WebCT. Is it possible to create a test in ExamView and then use that test in my WebCT course?
Answer: Yes, with ExamView 3.6, you can now export questions for use with WebCT 3.x and Blackboard 5.x. Simply build a test and choose the Export option. Step-by-step instructions explain how to import the questions into the e-learning system. Then, you can use those questions to build online tests.
