is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to promote the
development and application of distance learning for education and
training. They serve Pre K- 12, higher education, continuing
education, corporate training and more.

Distance
Learning Resource Network (www.dlrn.org)
is the dissemination project for the US Department of Education,
Star Schools Program, a federally funded distance education program
which offers instructional modules, enrichment articles and courses
in science, mathematics, foreign languages and more. DLRN
is a project of WestEd, a non-profit research, development and service
agency dedicated to improving education with a national focus on
assessment. The section for educators has information on professional
development, accreditation and course development and evaluation.

Gateway to Educational Materials or G.E.M. (www.thegateway.org)
is a consortium effort to provide educators with quick and easy
access to thousands of educational resources found on various federal,
state, non-profit and university Internet sites. GEM is sponsored
by the U.S. Department of Education and is a special project of
the ERIC Clearinghouse on Information & Technology.
Teachers, parents, and administrators can search or browse The Gateway
and find thousands of high-quality educational materials, including
lesson plans, activities, and projects from over 414 GEM Consortium
member sites.
